Yoga Maya Movie

 

Yoga Maya is my my maiden venture as a filmmaker. I produced and directed this yoga documentary. I have been practicing different aspects of yoga for the last 30 years of my life. Ever since I moved to the US in 2004, I have actively participated in the American yoga industry as a practitioner, teacher and yoga entrepreneur. I owned yoga studios and produced many yoga festivals and conferences. I often wondered why a vast and profound way of life such as yoga has been relegated to a primarily physical practice. After interacting with hundreds of yoga teachers, yoga businesses and students, I came to the realization that there are many misconceptions of yoga in America and it is these misconceptions that are preventing many people from embracing all aspects of yoga. In this documentary I tried to shed light on these thought provoking misconceptions.
